Qualifications
- Valid Oklahoma certification in Secondary English (High School)
- Experience in an alternative education setting preferred
- Experience with Edgenuity or similar online learning platforms preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple course preparations (preps)
- Commitment to working with at-risk and diverse student populations
- Understanding of trauma-informed instructional practices
- Ability to implement behavior intervention strategies (PBIS or similar frameworks)
- Skill in differentiating instruction to meet individual student needs
- Experience supporting students with IEPs and 504 accommodations
- Familiarity with credit recovery models and non-traditional instructional pacing
- Ability to use data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
- Strong classroom management, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills
- Effective use of instructional technology to enhance learning
- Ability to develop and support individualized learning plans
- Demonstrates a high level of collaboration and teamwork
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexible, organized, and able to adapt in a dynamic learning environment
