Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our wingshooting team. This role involves providing compassionate care and maintaining a clean, safe environment for animals. Duties
- Assist with daily kennel cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance to ensure a hygienic environment
- Handle animals with care, including restraint and safe handling of dogs and upland birds
- Assist with pet grooming, feeding, and administering medications as directed
- Help with dog training activities and behavioral reinforcement when needed
- Maintain detailed records of animal care activities and observations of upland Bird health
- Ensure safety protocols are followed to prevent injury or stress to animals and staff
- Heavy lifting of supplies or animals as required to support kennel operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in animal handling, kennel work, and operating machinery
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and pet grooming is a plus
- Strong animal care skills including restraint, feeding, and medication administration
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with dogs, other animals and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and team members
- Reliable, detail-oriented, with good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
