What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial & Preventive Maintenance Technician position at DEE MANUFACTURING LLC?
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized machine shop environment while supporting basic maintenance activities. This role ensures the facility operates efficiently by combining housekeeping duties with conducting minor repairs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Essential functions:
Clean and maintain shop floors, offices, production areas, restrooms, and lunchroom.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and remove debris from production areas.
Empty trash, scrap and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
Snow removal as needed during the winter months.
Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and shared workplaces.
Restock supplies such as paper products, soap and cleaning materials.
Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and around machinery.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks or machinery.
Lubricate, clean and assist with basic upkeep of machines.
Assist with minor repairs (e.g., changing filters).
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
Qualifications:Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, regularly.
Repetitive use of hands and arms for cleaning, tool use, and maintenance tasks.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required.
Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and basic hand and power tools.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to clean and service equipment.
Required to stand for 10 hours on concrete floors.
Required to have precise hand-eye coordination.
Needs to be mobile and flexible to perform maintenance tasks.
