Position Summary:
The Accountant will support the Controller with tracking and reporting key financial information vital to our ongoing operations and success. In this role, you will aid in decision making around organizational finances and spending. As the Accountant you are responsible for the transactional accounting, specifically around the entering of data into our book of record, efficiently completing daily tasks and supporting daily invoicing, reporting and client remittance preparation, while continuing to develop the team’s skillsets and abilities. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting. CPA or CMA credentials or work experience with CPA firm are a plus but not required. You should also have excellent leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and math skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling period transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Complete daily bank reconciliations for all four bank accounts.
- Post all daily incoming wires and checks to the collection system and/or the correct bank account. Confirm and validate all postings.
- Post daily legal receipts, produce legal invoices and prepare payments to local counsel.
- Reconcile assets and liability accounts on weekly basis.
- Do weekly client remittance reports and post weekly client remit payments to the bank for approval by accounting manager or CFO.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Support weekly and monthly reporting and financial close process.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of monthly full cycle accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- CPA or CMA desired or work experience with CPA firm or equivalent.
