Dedham Public Schools seeks an experienced, student-centered Elementary School Principal to serve as the instructional, operational, and cultural leader of Oakdale Elementary School. The Principal is responsible for ensuring a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment that promotes student achievement and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional leadership aligned with district curriculum, state standards, and best practices
- Supervise, evaluate, coach, and support teachers and staff using established educator evaluation systems
- Use multiple sources of student data to guide instructional decisions, school improvement planning, and targeted interventions
- Lead and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) addressing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive school culture that promotes belonging, equity, and high expectations
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-quality staff; address personnel matters in accordance with district policies and collective bargaining agreements
- Partner collaboratively with families, PTOs, and community stakeholders through clear and consistent communication
- Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, supervision, safety procedures, crisis response, and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
- Manage the school budget and resources responsibly and equitably Ensure equitable access to learning and support services for all students, including students with disabilities, English learners, and students from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
- Massachusetts Elementary School Principal license required
- Master’s Degree required
- Demonstrated effective school leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, MTSS, and professional learning
