What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Operator position at DeCook Excavating?
Olmsted Aggregate is a leading aggregate provider in the greater Rochester area. With three quarry and pit locations, we provide a variety of rock, stone, sand, and dirt for commercial and residential use.
We are looking to hire an entry level operator to run our hydraulic hammer. This individual is responsible for making our big rocks small! Typical working hours are Monday-Thursday 6:30am-6pm and Friday 6:30am-noon.
Responsibilities:
- Comply and follow MSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Daily, pre and post inspection of equipment
- Maintain and clean equipment
- Communicate closely with aggregate foreman for instructions
- Notify managers of equipment repairs
- Report safety concerns or incidents in a timely manner
- Routine maintenance of equipment including grease, fuel, fluid checks, wash, etc.
- Clean trucks and undercarriages
- Clean around equipment – shovel, rake
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- 70% in equipment, 30% labor
- Work in all weather conditions – Rain, sleet, snow, heat, cold
- Occasionally lift up ot 100 lbs.
- Kneel/Squat/Step/Stand/Bend while performing certain maintenance or operating machinery
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with crew members to assure safety
- Looking for hazards other equipment/people etc.
- Shovel/Raking/Scraping etc.
