Role Description
This is a full-time, part-time, or prn, on-site in-home role for a Registered Nurse Dementia Specialist based in Baton Rouge, LA. The specialist will provide person-centered care for an individual living with dementia. The role will also involve conducting patient assessments, monitoring ongoing health needs, and ensuring that care meets evidence-based dementia care practices.
Qualifications
- Strong nursing skills such as patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and care planning
- Experience or specialization in dementia care, behavioral management, and restorative health practices
- Knowledge of patient and family education, communication strategies, and care coordination
- Proficiency in therapeutic techniques and strategies for managing dementia symptoms
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana and relevant certifications are required
- Compassionate, patient-centered care approach with excellent interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in non-traditional care settings is a plus
