Key Responsibilities
- Maintains central communication link for Field Service Representatives and customer service requests.
- Responsible for coordinating service orders to Field Service Representative.
- Coordinates with multiple departments to troubleshoot and resolve service order issues.
- Prepares, monitors and implements the collection process to include remote and manual disconnect meters and ensure accurate information and data is given to Field Services prior to customer disconnect.
- Prepares, monitors, and implements final cuts and non-paid accounts including remote and manual disconnect meters to ensure accurate information is given to Field Services and Billing in a timely manner.
- Complete Electric meter Transfers, Connects and Disconnects using provided software.
- Coordinates and assists with AMI projects by gathering information, creating service orders, assigning field task to Field Service and communicate with AMI Engineer.
- Receives hydrant meter request, creates orders to set and pick up hydrant meters, monitors extended use hydrants to get monthly readings and relocate when necessary, and prepares information for accounting to bill the customer.
- Assist with organizing routes, schedules and communication with Meter Readers through provided software.
- Maintain Electric and Gas meter inventory as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 2 years additional related work experience.
- Above average communication is required to effectively dispatch field service orders and assist multiple departments in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to read and comprehend routine business documents.
- Ability to prepare routine reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate one-on-one with co-workers and supervisors to respond to questions and resolve customer service issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel), NiSC CIS modules, Decatur Utilities GIS software, Temetra software and Connexo software required to perform job tasks. This includes using software applications for email, word processing, database tracking and spreadsheet applications and using Internet Explorer to navigate online Employee Self-Serve webpage for personal payroll, benefit and employee information.
- Ability to use copier, scanner, fax and calculator.
- Ability to use mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages and averages and apply to practical business situations.
- Ability to apply some judgment to carry out detailed and well-established procedures and methods such as completing detailed forms and recording complex data.
