What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Sports Camp Counselor position at Decathlon Sports Club of Los Altos?
Our program emphasizes fun, personal attention, and sportsmanship rather than intense instruction, drills, or competition.
You must have a broad athletic background and have some experience working with kids in sports.
High energy, very active camp. More recreational than instructional. The camp offers lots of sports but also traditional summer camp activities such as:
- relays, arts & crafts.
- slip & slide.
- swimming.
- water fights.
- field trips.
- tug of war.
- etc.
We have over 250 campers and 40 staff campers at each location. With the help of a junior counselor of high school age, you will lead a group of 16 boys or girls (ages 6 -12) through a variety of daily games and sports activities, including baseball, swimming, tennis, soccer, floor hockey, basketball, frisbee, volleyball, track & field, and other games such as capture the flag.
It is also important that you are patient, self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative, sensitive toward small children's needs, and have a sincere desire to spend your summer working outdoors with kids. Experience preferred but not necessary.
Salary: $155-225 /day
