The firm is privileged to frequently represent various Central Florida sheriff’s offices in civil cases that often involve complex issues of constitutional and state law. Our office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support a team of attorneys and staff handling civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts.
Responsibilities
- Organize, summarize, and maintain discovery materials, medical records, and case files.
- Review and analyze discovery responses, including interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and document productions for completeness and relevance.
- Prepare initial drafts of legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Coordinate service of subpoenas, track compliance, and follow up with records custodians
- Conduct legal and general research using traditional research methods and AI-enabled platforms.
- Manage case deadlines and ensure compliance with court orders and rules.
- Process state and federal court e-filings and coordinate service of court documents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the firm.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal in civil trial practice.
- Federal court experience preferred.
- Maintain accurate and detailed time records reflecting paralegal tasks performed throughout the workday.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate litigation calendars effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems preferred.
