Position Summary
Dearborn is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing floor in Berea, Ohio. This role is responsible for leading shop personnel, coordinating production schedules, maintaining equipment readiness, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can motivate a team, improve workflow, and maintain a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily production activities to ensure schedules and customer deadlines are met
- Supervise machinists and shop personnel to maximize productivity and quality
- Collaborate with management, engineering, and production teams to support manufacturing needs
- Monitor workflow and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure machines remain production-ready
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and company standards
- Train, mentor, and develop employees through coaching and cross-training
- Support staffing recommendations, promotions, and team development
- Communicate production updates and priorities across departments
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- 10 years of machining experience
- 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes
- Working knowledge of G & M code programming and machine-side editing
- Experience with CNC programming software for milling and turning centers
- Proven leadership and team-building skills
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional technical training is a plus
