Your Impact & Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Tech, you will handle the full lifecycle of instrument sterilization, ensuring the surgical team has exactly what they need, when they need it:
- Decontamination: Clean and disinfect complex surgical instruments using washers, disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Assembly & Inspection: Meticulously inspect instruments for functionality and assemble trays according to precise guidelines.
- Sterilization: Operate autoclaves and monitor/document every cycle to ensure 100% compliance.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records, wrap/label supplies, and monitor inventory levels to prevent clinical delays.
- Collaboration: Work closely with OR nurses and surgical teams to support critical procedures.
Requirements
- Certification: Must hold a current CRCST (HSPA) or CBSPD certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically using instrument tracking systems.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of infection control, manual dexterity for delicate tools, and the ability to stand for long shifts.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift equipment and instrument sets as needed.
