Job Summary
Dean’s Professional Services is seeking a highly analytical Chargemaster Coordinator to manage revenue integrity and compliance. This role is perfect for a senior-level coding professional with deep expertise in CDM maintenance, CPT/HCPCS regulations, and healthcare reimbursement. You will serve as the bridge between clinical departments and financial services to ensure billing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- CDM Management: Maintain and update the Charge Description Master (CDM), including SIM number assignment and markup formula application.
- Coding Oversight: Research and assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue codes to all billable services.
- EHR Accuracy: Reconcile chargemaster updates across test and production environments; ensure Place of Service codes are accurate within the EHR.
- Compliance & Research: Investigate government and third-party payer guidelines to ensure 100% billing compliance.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work with revenue-generating departments to ensure services performed match assigned codes.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain detailed documentation of all updates and prepare revenue/utilization reports for leadership.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is REQUIRED. (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of Medical Coding or Revenue Cycle experience, specifically in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and billing compliance.
- Certifications: Must hold at least one of the following active certifications:
- AHIMA: CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT
- AAPC: CPC, COC, or COC-A
