Architect

We're hiring an Architect to help evolve our platform as we scale—strengthening core architecture, improving reliability and performance, and guiding technical decisions across teams. You’ll report to the CTO and partner closely with the VP of Engineering, Engineering Managers, and engineers to set technical direction and drive high-impact initiatives. What You'll Do:

• Define and evolve Dealpath’s application and platform architecture to support scale, reliability, and faster product delivery.
• Establish best practices in the evolving landscape of engineering with AI.
• Partner with engineering leadership to translate business needs into technical strategy and an architectural roadmap.
• Lead architecture and design reviews across teams (system design, data modeling, API design, service boundaries).
• Establish and reinforce best practices for maintainability, security, performance, and operational excellence (testing, observability, resiliency).
• Drive cross-cutting technical initiatives such as platform modularization, API consistency, integration patterns, data quality improvements, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with DevOps/Security to ensure our cloud applications scale safely and reliably.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on engineering quality, architectural thinking, and execution.
• Lead a team of engineers dedicated to improving scalability, updating coding standards, and improving engineering efficiency
• Stay hands-on when needed through prototyping, critical-path implementation, debugging, and technical deep dives.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant ownership of architecture and system design for cloud-based SaaS products.
• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, distributed systems concepts, and API design).
• Experience designing and scaling backend systems and web applications, including reliability, performance, and data integrity.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and influence without direct authority.
• Deep understanding of architecture patterns and tradeoffs (modular monolith, service-oriented architecture, microservices, event-driven patterns).
• Proficiency in scalable AI code generation
• Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL or similar), schema design, and production data migrations.
• Excellent communication skills: able to explain tradeoffs, risks, and sequencing to technical and non-technical partners.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
  

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Ruby on Rails and modern frontend development (React, TypeScript, JavaScript).
• Track record modernizing a monolith (modularization, domain boundaries, incremental service extraction).
• Experience building enterprise-grade integrations (REST, webhooks, SSO/SAML, audit logging, data import/export pipelines).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and production operations (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring/alerting, incident response).
• Familiarity with security and compliance expectations for enterprise SaaS (e.g., SOC 2) and secure-by-design practices.
• Interest in real estate, fintech, capital markets, or data-heavy workflow platforms.

• The estimated compensation range for this position is $250,000k - $275,000.
• This position is also eligible for Dealpath's equity plan.
• Your compensation will be based upon several factors including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and the skills assessed in Dealpath's interview process.
• Your actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
