Position Summary
The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for accurately reconciling financial transactions and balances across multiple entities within the organization. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial data by comparing internal records to external statements, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrections. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex reconciliations across various accounts, currencies, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card transactions, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts across multiple entities.
- Compare general ledger entries to supporting documentation (e.g., bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, intercompany schedules) and investigate variances.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure all entries are recorded, balanced, and eliminated during consolidation.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing process by preparing reconciliation reports and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards: GAAP
- Support audits by providing detailed reconciliation documentation and explanations for variances.
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for all reconciliation activities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a reconciliation, accounting, or bookkeeping role (multi-entity experience preferred).
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
