DCD Vehicle Corp is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented EHS Coordinator / Safety Officer to support environmental, health, and safety programs at our vehicle assembly and manufacturing facility in Orlando, Florida.
This position will play a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace by conducting safety inspections, providing employee training, investigating workplace incidents, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting compliance with applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, automotive, warehouse, logistics, or another industrial environment. Candidates who are bilingual in English and Chinese or English and Spanish are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of production areas, warehouses, offices, equipment, and company facilities.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor compliance with company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, PPE standards, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct new-hire safety orientations and ongoing employee safety training.
- Deliver safety training and communications in English and, when applicable, Chinese or Spanish.
- Investigate workplace injuries, accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and employee safety concerns.
- Prepare incident reports, root-cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety inspection reports, training records, Safety Data Sheets, and other required documentation.
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work coordination.
- Support emergency response planning, evacuation drills, fire safety inspections, and first-aid preparedness.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals, hazardous materials, and waste.
- Coordinate safety requirements for contractors, vendors, and temporary staffing agencies.
- Inspect and monitor safety equipment, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, eyewash stations, first-aid supplies, and PPE inventory.
- Communicate safety updates, policy changes, findings, and corrective actions to employees and management.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections conducted by OSHA, fire departments, insurance carriers, and other regulatory agencies.
- Partner with production, warehouse, maintenance, human resources, and management teams to continuously improve workplace safety.
- Perform other EHS-related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, manufacturing, automotive, warehouse, logistics, or a related industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety requirements.
- Knowledge of hazard communication, PPE, machine safety, lockout/tagout, emergency response, incident investigation, and workplace inspections.
- Ability to identify safety risks and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond promptly to workplace safety concerns.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Chinese or English and Spanish.
- Experience in automotive assembly, vehicle manufacturing, industrial production, warehousing, or logistics.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience maintaining OSHA 300, 301, and 300A records.
- Experience with workers’ compensation, safety audits, environmental compliance, or regulatory inspections.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, and move throughout office, warehouse, and production areas.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment in designated work areas.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move safety equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to respond promptly to workplace incidents and emergency situations.
Work Environment
This position works in both office and industrial environments. The employee may be exposed to production equipment, vehicle assembly operations, warehouse traffic, noise, dust, chemicals, and other conditions typically associated with a manufacturing facility. Required personal protective equipment must be worn in designated areas.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000–$100,000 per year.
Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education, professional certifications, bilingual capabilities, knowledge of manufacturing safety, and overall qualifications.
