Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and drafting of public infrastructure projects, including roadway, drainage, water, and wastewater systems.
- Prepare and update engineering plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and technical analyses.
- Collaborate with internal design teams and regulatory agencies to ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards.
- Support project coordination efforts, including scheduling, document control, and permitting assistance.
- Conduct field visits and assist with construction observation, data collection, and record documentation.
- Work closely with senior engineers to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to project objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 0–3 years of experience in civil or municipal infrastructure design preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
- Familiarity with City of Houston, Harris County, and TxDOT design standards a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Motivated to learn, collaborate, and grow toward professional licensure (P.E.).
