What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at DCCCA?
DCCCA has been a licensed Child Placing Agency in the state of Kansas since 2001. CPA staff work with foster parents to assist in providing the best possible services for children and families. We believe in every child's right to a stable placement with trained foster parents who are dedicated to his or her emotional and physical well-being, their educational opportunity, and permanency with the birth or adoptive family.
The role of the Billing Specialist is to perform tasks in areas, including but not limited to, client and contract billings and researching/resolving outstanding billings and accounts receivable.
Position Overview:
- Submits funder-specific format with all required data for client billings in a timely manner
- Applies cash receipts, checks or ACH of client payments when received
- Monitors, researches and determines resolution for outstanding client accounts receivable
- Reconciles outstanding client receivables to the general ledger, adjusting as needed, and notifying program staff for additional follow-up when applicable
- Manages and maintains the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of billing according to specific contractual terms
- Gathers appropriate documentation to support all expenditures for a contract or grant
- Performs administrative functions such as claim reversals, authorization overrides, and claim adjustments
- Demonstrates the highest level of ethical behavior and excellent customer service skills
Requirements Include:
- Requires a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Requires at least two years of relevant job experience
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and other online or web-based client software systems
- Valid driver's license with ability to maintain a clear driving record approved by DCCCA's insurance
Must successfully complete post-offer background checks, fingerprint-based records check, and drug screening.
