Company Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Bindery Operator specializing in folding to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will operate and maintain folding equipment and related machinery to ensure precise binding and finishing of printed materials. Your expertise will help us deliver flawless products that meet our high standards for quality and efficiency. This is an on-site, 1st shift position scheduled to work Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Sets up and adjusts feeder, folding plates and delivery according to the job specifications
- Set up folder for special processes (perforating, scoring, slitting/trimming, gluing, etc.)
- Instruct others in technical and mechanical operations of equipment
- Load and maintains supply of sheets/signatures
- File samples of production material
- Complete production records (time sheets, job tickets, and PACE)
- Do routine preventative maintenance
- Clean up and keeps work area neat and orderly
- Perform other duties as requested when needed
Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand written instructions including those dealing with dimensions and quantity.
- Ability to apply written instructions to machine set-up.
- Good knowledge of folder operations and set-up practices.
- Knowledge of the operation and function of other bindery equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors
- 3 -5 years’ experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy Lifting, able to lift over 45 lbs. repeatedly
- Able to work standing/walking on feet all day
- Excellent overall health and physical condition
- Frequent stooping/bending
- Frequent crawling/climbing/kneeling
- Frequent repetitive motion
