Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to be used agency wide. The mission of the DMV is to promote the safe operation of motor vehicles and public safety while providing outstanding customer service. The purpose of this position is to coordinate the daily operations of the Medical Review program ensuring all DC licensed drivers meet and maintain compliance with Federal and District medical and vision requirements. As part of the driver license medical review process, drivers may be required to submit periodic medical/vision reports and issued license restrictions to ensure the safe

Duties And Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of the mission, function, and operations of the administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of DMV and MRP in order to develop detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates, and schedules to ensure proper operation of the MRP program and establish criteria to measure and/or predict the attainment of program goals and objectives.

Thorough knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills associated with working in an environment to anticipate customers’ needs and to determine workflow and processes. Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced customer-focused, stressful environment and apply flexibility, human and “out-of-the-box” thinking, and strategies.

Qualifications And Education

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

The work is performed in an adequately heated, lighted and ventilated non-smoking environment. The work is primarily sedentary in nature.

Pay Plan, Series, and Grade: CS-0301-12

Promotion Potential: No known promotion potential.

Duration of Appointment: Career Service Permanent.

Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.

Position Designation: This position is designated as Security Sensitive and therefore the incumbent of this position will be subject to enhanced suitability screening pursuant to Chapter 4 of DC personnel regulations, Suitability.
