Job Summary
This position is located in the District of Columbia Department of Health (DC Health), HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD, and TB administration (HAHSTA). The functions of this position include analytical and programmatic work to the improvement of public health services through evidence-based practices. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the management, assessment, development, and implementation of public health programs. The desired candidate will also support local programs and agencies to achieve healthy communities, work with them to achieve health equity and eliminate health disparities with special focus on supporting populations with high-risk health factors.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
The position utilizes databases to create program reports, assure data integrity, and retrieve historical information, summary reports, and ad hoc analyses. It develops approaches and prepares analytical reports on performance measures, goals, milestones, trends, and improvements, compiling trend data for required quarterly reporting and participating in management review. The role provides guidance and assists in implementing data‑sharing with internal and external stakeholders, interprets and applies analytical techniques to enhance processing, reporting, and query capabilities, and captures, develops, and documents data definitions, rules, quality requirements, and data models. It also performs data cleaning, validation, and verification while determining the most effective approaches to data collection and independently obtaining needed data.
Qualifications And Education
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the line of progression.
Its preferred candidates hold a degree in Public Health, Data Analytics, Health Informatics or data/systems-relate subject.

The incumbent must be able to carry out official duties in a variety of settings and conditions. Routine work will occur primarily in an office setting.
