About the RoleWe are seeking a Lead Estimator to join and expand our growing construction division. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, interpreting construction documents, and working closely with preconstruction and operations teams to ensure project success from the start. You’ll play a critical role in helping us grow our footprint in the multifamily and commercial renovation space across Florida and beyond.
Responsibilities- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
- Lead takeoffs and pricing for all construction trades (focus on renovation/remodel, ground-up multifamily, and commercial projects).
- Manage and mentor junior estimators as our team grows.
- Build budgets, cost proposals, and bids with attention to scope, schedule, and profit goals.
- Collaborate with project management, construction, and sales teams to ensure seamless project handoff.
- Interface with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Assist with value engineering and alternate scope options.
- 5 years of experience in construction estimating (multifamily and commercial highly preferred).
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, Procore, Microsoft Excel, and SAGE.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and architectural plans.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a leader within a growing team.
- High attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Experience with unit renovations, exterior improvements, and amenity upgrades.
- Previous leadership or team development experience.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
