Commercial Vehicle Operations Driver – Local (CDL) – HazMat Certified

Responsible for pickup and delivery of inbound and outbound freight to customer locations using company vehicles at least 75% of the time. Operates tractor-trailers (>26,000 lbs GVWR) within a 250 air-mile radius, starting and ending the workday at the same location. Ensures vehicle safety and security, interacts with warehouse teams, and complies with all federal and state regulations, including those for transporting hazardous materials. Tasks and responsibilities:

• Verify shipment bills for required information and load/unload freight.
• Weigh and check freight dimensions.
• Perform and maintain daily vehicle and freight security checks.
• Deliver and recover freight from customer locations using company vehicles.
• Inspect truck and trailer equipment for road worthiness.
• Ensure proper documentation for hazardous materials.
• Use RF and/or computer systems for trailer inventory control.
• Maintain communication via radio or telephone.
• Adapt to frequent changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
  
  

Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills:

• Possess a valid CDL Class A license.
• Comply with DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including HazMat standards.
• Meet physical fitness requirements outlined in federal medical regulations.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally; frequent reaching, lifting, pulling, standing, walking, pushing, crouching, and repetitive motion required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Generally prefer 3–6 years of experience.
• Must interpret freight coding, operate hand trucks and forklifts, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Good interpersonal skills required. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base hourly pay which is $28.50 to 29.00 an hour. Our benefits package includes paid time off and paid sick time in the first year, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, disability insurance, and more as described in our [1] benefits guide. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, performance, geography, and internal equity. Benefits may be subject to waiting periods and other terms and conditions.
