We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as an Assessment Specialist.
Required Qualifications: This position requires an Associate’s degree with emphasis in Education, Business, and Human Services or a closely related field and six (6) months of related work experience.
Desired Qualifications: One (1) year of related work experience is preferred. Educational testing work experience is preferred. Customer service experience is a plus.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum hourly rate of $14.33 with an approximate annual amount of $29,800.
Working Hours: Hours will vary on any given day and weekly due to the requirements and needs of the department which is open evenings except Friday. This position will be based at the Daytona Campus to administer and proctor tests. However, responsibilities of this position may require travel for temporary assignment or permanent relocation to any of Daytona State College campuses. Some Saturdays for special events are also required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administers, proctors, and scores placement tests for incoming students.
- Administers Distance Learning and DSC instructor exams and secures and maintains faculty testing materials.
- Administers certification exams for state and private agencies as agreed to by the college.
- Administers Adult Education testing and GED.
- Administers and proctors nursing, law enforcement and public services pre-admission exams.
- Administers and proctors CLEP testing and maintains computerized testing CLEP system.
- Administers all other departmental exams.
- Works with faculty, staff, and students to schedule special testing sessions.
- Serves and counsels students, prospective students, parents, faculty and other college personnel in all departmental concerns.
- Assists supervisors in training department personnel on computer usage and specialized test software and updates, uses and maintains their assigned Assessment procedure manual.
- Performs routine office tasks such as data entry, record keeping, telephoning, faxing, filing, and photocopying. Enters demographic and test score data into college data system.
- Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars and/or conferences to improve professional skills and maintain required certifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must earn and maintain test administrator certifications for multiple vendors. This individual must possess the ability to compute or perform arithmetic operations using data or information and handle or use machines or equipment that require moderate instruction and experience such as computers, peripherals, or software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications. They must have the ability to perform skilled work involving rules/systems with the skill to solve problems almost constantly, perform addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and/or calculate ratios, rates and percentages and perform specialized technical or entry level professional work requiring general understanding of operating policies and procedures and their application to problems not previously encountered. This position requires a high level of attention with frequent periods of concentration for accurate results and occasional exposure to unusual pressure.
