As an RN Nursing Supervisor at Dayton Nursing and Rehabilitation, you’ll serve as a critical leader on the clinical team—supporting staff, coordinating care, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), you will help guide the nursing team, oversee daily operations, and play a key role in delivering exceptional outcomes for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee patient care services in accordance with physician orders and nursing best practices
- Support the DON in managing clinical operations, including staffing, workflow, and patient care quality
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
- Assist with resident admissions, room assignments, care transitions, and discharges
- Conduct staff scheduling, supervision, and on-shift management
- Participate in staff recruitment, training, evaluations, and disciplinary processes
- Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes to physicians and family as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility policies and procedures
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and compassionate care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; must hold current, active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility preferred
- At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or leadership nursing role
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and care planning skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure during high-stress situations
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
