About the Role:
Dietary Aides play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of residents in long-term care facilities. They assist in providing nutritious and appealing meals while maintaining a clean and safe food service environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Handler's Certificate (required in many jurisdictions)
- Previous experience in food service is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and serving meals
- Follow dietary restrictions and special requests
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning
- Transport food and supplies as needed
- Assist with food inventory and ordering
- Interact with residents in a friendly and respectful manner
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Fine motor skills for handling food and utensils
- Good vision and hearing
- Flexibility to reach, bend, and stoop
