Maintenance Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Worker to join our team and help ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces and facilities. In this role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, including landscape upkeep, equipment operation, and general repairs. Your efforts will directly contribute to creating a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and community members. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about outdoor work and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and planting bed care to maintain attractive outdoor spaces.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment including lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and tree trimming machinery safely and efficiently.
• Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Conduct groundskeeping duties such as snow plowing during winter months and hardscape repairs to preserve safety and aesthetics.
• Identify plants accurately for proper care and pest management; apply pesticides following safety protocols when necessary.
• Maintain grounds by performing routine inspections, cleaning debris, repairing fencing or pathways, and ensuring all equipment functions correctly.
• Follow safety procedures diligently during all tasks to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification, pruning techniques, and landscape design basics.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators.
• Familiarity with pesticide management practices and safety protocols related to outdoor work environments.
• Experience in grounds maintenance tasks like mowing lawns, tree care (trimming or removal), gardening, and hardscape installation or repair.
• Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
• Construction experience or familiarity with outdoor construction projects is a plus.
