Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and lawn care to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Operate hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, excavators, and other equipment safely and efficiently for various maintenance projects
- Identify plants and trees to ensure proper care; manage tree trimming, pruning, and planting activities
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules; troubleshoot issues as needed
- Conduct pesticide management following safety protocols to protect plants and surrounding environments
- Support construction projects by assisting with hardscape installation, excavation work, or minor repairs around the facility
- Perform snow plowing operations during winter months to maintain safe access routes and parking areas
- Support gardening efforts by planting new flora, mulching beds, and maintaining garden aesthetics
- Assist with tree care activities including planting, trimming, and health assessments
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces by removing debris, leaves, and ensuring proper disposal of waste
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators
- Extensive landscape maintenance skills including mowing, landscaping design, plant identification, pruning, and lawn care techniques
- Knowledge of horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth and landscape sustainability
- Experience managing irrigation systems and troubleshooting related issues effectively
- Ability to identify pests or diseases in plants; familiarity with pesticide management practices for safe application
- Construction experience with hardscape installation or general building repairs is highly desirable
- Skilled in snow plowing operations for winter weather preparedness
- Excellent understanding of tree care practices including trimming, planting, and health assessments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to gardening equipment, heavy machinery operation, pesticide handling, and construction sites
