What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver - Weekend Days position at Daybreak Family Homes?
We are currently looking for experienced (at least 1yr) staff to fill our Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Day Shifts, guaranteed 30 hrs/week with intermittent options to pick up extra hours to cover other shifts.
- Weekend Days: Fri, Sat, Sun 6a-4p (there are options to adjust hours for these shifts, either dropping to 8 hr shift 7a-3p or extending to 12 hr shift 6a-6p).
- Start Date: 24 July, first day of orientation
Position Overview
Daybreak Family Homes is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team in providing exceptional residential assisted living care. Our Caregivers play a vital role in creating a warm, supportive, and home-like environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Help residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Medication Management: Assist with medication reminders and administration as trained and authorized
- Nutritional Support: Prepare and serve nutritious meals, assist with feeding when needed, and accommodate special dietary requirements
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide emotional support, engage in meaningful conversations, and facilitate social activities and recreational programs
- Household Support: Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment through light housekeeping and laundry services
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to supervisors and healthcare professionals
- Safety & Dignity: Ensure resident safety at all times while promoting independence and maintaining dignity and respect
- Transportation: Provide or arrange transportation to medical appointments, social outings, and community activities as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical ability to assist residents with mobility (lifting, transferring)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous caregiving or healthcare experience
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Alaska CNA, HCA, or similar certification
