Stop looking, you have found the perfect job! Daybreak Adult Day Services is seeking a full time activity assistant for our adult medical day program. Monday through Friday daytime hours. Join our team and make seniors smile!
This full time hire will work within our activity department leading a variety of innovative, active, and creative activities for up to 70 seniors per day. The ideal candidate will
- demonstrate enthusiastic, patient and understanding engagement with older adults with dementia and other age-related changes
- be able to communicate clearly and project voice as to engage participants with hearing impairment
- speak fluent English; Spanish is a plus
- facilitate groups of 5-70 senior participants in engaging, therapeutic activities including, but not limited to, active games, dancing, crafts, card games, discussions, current events, trivia, exercise
- assist in serving breakfast, lunch and snack with capacity to learn and retain participants’ dietary restrictions
- assist in loading and unloading participants from center buses
- ability to safely lead out-of-center field trips of groups of 10-12 participants
- assist with seasonal decorations
- contribute ideas to monthly activity calendar
- be able to lift 20 pounds or more
- endurance to stand for extended periods of time
- work as a team player with staff and volunteers
This is a Monday through Friday position, 9:00am-4:000pm. Center is closed weekends, major holidays, and during dangerous weather. Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, and life insurance.
