We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic relocation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of trucks, including pack vans, 26ft box trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, to deliver house hold goods efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in commercial driving combined with mechanical knowledge will ensure smooth operations from load to unload. Duties
- Safely operate a range of trucks such as pack vans, 26ft box trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers to transport materials and house hold goods.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or specialized equipment like walk boards and ramps.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all regulations.
- Drive in accordance with federal, state, and local traffic laws while maintaining a clean driving record.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks when necessary to secure loads or prepare shipments for delivery.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck operated. 2 years of documented experience.
- Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as pack vans, 26ft box trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, or similar vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge of truck systems and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to load and unload cargo efficiently using various equipment including ramps, dollies, moving pads, and straps.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and work in various weather conditions.
- Prior experience as a delivery/moving driver or commercial driver is highly desirable.
