Coordinates and assists in the direction of the Summer Junior Volunteer Program.
Junior Volunteer Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- Provides training and on-going supervision of the Junior volunteers.
- Schedules the Junior Volunteers daily.
- Coordinates and assigns Junior Volunteers throughout the hospital.
- Develops an evaluation instrument and conducts on-going evaluations and end-of-summer evaluations
- Performs special projects and fundraisers as assigned, and assists the coordinator as required
- Performs additional duties as may by required under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services
- Assists with other duties as assigned
Junior Volunteer Coordinator Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Computer skills required. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and mainframe system entry
- Ability to make decisions, assess problems and determine whether to refer to a supervisor. Understanding and tact in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and/or volunteers. Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information in the department and hospital. Ability to adapt to a variety of situations, changes in duties and department requirements. Displays verbal ability and clerical perception. Knowledge and understanding of hospital policy, and the ability to communicate to a diverse population.
