What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payment Program Director position at Day Air Credit Union?
Day Air Credit Union is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Payment Program Director position.
The Payment Program Director will establish the Credit Union’s overall payment services strategy; provide strategic direction and oversight of all payments channels, including development of short-and long-term plans, development and execution of payments related roadmaps, monitoring of key metrics and oversight of all card and payment processes.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct all aspects of Payments
- Support and drive best practices in payments areas including Credit Cards, Debit Cards, ACH, Billpayer, P2P, A2A and emerging payment channels (e.g. real time payments).
- Manages third party relationships (e.g. brand, networks, core processor, card processor, Corporate One FCU, etc.) and internal relationships (e.g. marketing, retail operations, information technology, accounting, etc.).
- Serve as product/service champion for all payments related activities, including input/oversight of budget, monitoring key metrics, prioritization of work (what moves from backlog to production) and oversight of all card & payment processes.
- Ensures the Credit Union payment options are operating in a manner to support organizational growth, operating efficiency, and member service excellence in such a way as to best navigate competing organizational objectives (e.g. minimizing risk exposure vs. maximizing member service excellence).
- Oversee and review digital payment products and offerings; recommend new/existing product enhancements to executive management; ensure proper implementation of new and approved products and services.
- Keep abreast of trends and developments within banking and related industries, as well as economic and regulatory changes.
- Coordinate and deliver timely management reporting of payment activities, risks and trends.
- Develop executive level presentations on payments product/service priorities, strategies, impact and results.
- Oversee the cardholder dispute resolution, fraud mitigation and chargeback process with our card processor.
Compliance
- Understand compliance requirements for all payments channels and ensure that all payments related programs are compliant.
Supervise
- Provide direct reports with proper tools and authority to execute their assigned functions and develop skills of staff through goal-setting, coaching, problem resolution, delegation, training, and performance management.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of similar or related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related major preferred and/or management experience preferably in financial services.
- Prior experience working with credit card brands, i.e. Mastercard or Visa.
- ACH Accredited Professional (AAP) certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of financial institutions’ overall policies and procedures and specifically the internal operating policies and procedures of the electronic payments function.
