What are the responsibilities and job description for the TIG Welder position at Dawson Metal Company Inc?
FT: TIG Welder, Jamestown.
Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Setup components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with power saws to match measurements)
Setup fixtures and use them per work instructions
Operate grinders to prepare parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect weld surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
TIG Welding Certification. Subject to drug screening, medical exam, reference check and criminal background check. Pay rate: $18.50-$22.50/hour negotiable depending on experience.
