Who You Are
A Shipping and Receiving Specialist manages incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Key duties include loading/unloading trucks, inspecting shipments for damage, updating inventory systems, and preparing orders for dispatch/shipping. This physically demanding role requires lifting 50 lbs, operating equipment like forklifts, and maintaining safety protocols.
What You'll Do
- Receiving/Stocking: Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders/invoices to ensure no damages or discrepancies. Enter eceipts into the WMS system. Stock inbound products in appropriate locations and areas. Manage inbound carrier schedules. Notify management of any shipping/receiving issues.
- Shipping: Pack, label, and prepare outbound orders, ensuring they match picking tickets. Schedule and track carrier pickups and shipments.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of daily shipments and receipts.
- Safety & Maintenance: Keep the dock and warehouse area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
What You Bring

- Experience: 3-5 years of similar shipping and receiving experience. Carrier knowledge helpful.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50–100 lbs frequently.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using RF scanners, inventory software, and computer systems.
- Certifications: Forklift experience and certification is required.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Math and Reasoning Skills: High degree of math skills and the ability to solve problems and work independently.
- Systems: Prior experience using WMS, TMS and inventory control systems required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, and lifting on hard surfaces.
- Comfort working in environments with varying temperatures.
