Davies Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing insurance organization seeking a Comparative Rater Analyst to ensure the accuracy, competitiveness, and regulatory compliance of insurance products across external comparative rating platforms and internal systems. This role is critical to delivering a reliable, seamless quoting experience for agents across personal and/or commercial lines.

What You’ll Do
- Configure, maintain, and validate rating logic, coverage mappings, underwriting questions, and eligibility rules across comparative rater platforms
- Translate rate filings, underwriting rules, and product updates into accurate rater configurations in partnership with Product, Actuarial, Compliance, Sales, and IT
- Analyze and reconcile data exchanged between comparative raters and internal systems using SQL and advanced Excel
- Develop and execute test plans, regression testing, and end‑to‑end validation for rate changes, underwriting updates, and vendor releases
- Investigate and resolve quote discrepancies, documenting root cause, impact, and corrective actions
- Triage production issues impacting agents and implement controls to prevent recurrence
- Create and maintain documentation including data mappings, rating assumptions, decision tables, and test cases
- Serve as liaison with rater vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate releases and resolve defects
- Monitor production data and agent feedback to identify trends and recommend enhancements to improve quote accuracy, speed, and competitiveness
- Support audits and regulatory reviews with clear, complete configuration and testing documentation
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience validating rating logic, coverage structures, underwriting/eligibility rules, and state variations
- Proficiency in SQL (joins, filters, aggregations)
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/INDEX‑MATCH, nested formulas; Power Query preferred)
- Experience analyzing system integrations, data mappings, and reconciling outputs across platforms
- Strong written documentation skills across business and technical requirements
- Clear communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced, priority‑shifting environment
Preferred Experience
- 3 years of P&C insurance experience involving comparative raters, rating engines, underwriting systems, or policy administration systems
- Hands‑on experience with Vertafore PL Rating, EZLynx, ITC TurboRater, Applied Rater, and/or QuoteRush
- Exposure to rating engines and Policy Administration Systems (Guidewire preferred)
- Experience with Power BI for reporting and performance monitoring
- Scripting experience (Python or R) for data validation or automation
