What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Davidson College?
The primary purpose of the Electrician is to install, repair and maintain electrically powered systems and equipment following accepted procedures and techniques of the electrical trade. This position installs electrical distribution panels, conduit and wiring, branch circuits, lighting and receptacle devices inside buildings and out.
Duties:
Maintain Commercial and residential electrical systems and equipment. Install residential and commercial wiring in college houses and buildings.
Install underground electrical and telecommunication conduits. Install energy efficient lighting inside and out.
Log work hours and a description of work done and material used on Work Orders.
Regularly scheduled on-call duty required. during the week of being on call work schedule will be from 1:00pm to 9:00 pm
This position is considered essential personnel during school closings and inclement weather.
Requirements:
HS or GED; Valid NC Driver's License required; Limited Electrical License required. Five years of experience. Experience in residential and commercial installations and maintenance of electrical systems.
Preferred:
Knowledge of high voltage systems
