Davidson Automotive Group is looking for a Reconditioning Mechanical Supervisor for our Reconditioning department. This position will lead the team of technicians, oversee technician performance, support apprentice development, and ensure vehicles are moving efficiently throughout the reconditioning process.

Hours: 7:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $70,000-$75,000/year
Responsibilities:
- Supervise mechanical technicians within the reconditioning department including overseeing their daily workflow and productivity.
- Assign repair work based on technician skill level, workload, priorities, and department needs.
- Oversee and support the apprentice technician development program.
- Partner with the Shop Foreman / Apprentice Trainer to ensure apprentices receive consistent coaching, training, and feedback.
- Attends recruiting events on behalf of the apprentice program
- Ensure vehicles move efficiently through the reconditioning process, including monitoring repair progress and addressing potential delays before or as they happen.
- Review repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
- Review inbound pre-owned vehicles and mechanical repair requirements as needed.
- Help ensure repairs are assigned and completed according to technician skill level and training needs.
- Coordinate with the Parts, Detail, Collision and Wholesale Departments to help prevent delays.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe shop environment.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and reconditioning operations.
- Experience managing technician productivity, workflow, and repair quality.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, shop workflow, and quality control standards.
- Ability to review repairs for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous automotive repair and/or diagnostic experience.
- Manufacturer or ASE certifications.
- Previous experience working in a dealership, reconditioning, or high-volume service environment.
- Previous experience developing, mentoring, or coaching technicians.
