About the Role:
David S Doka M D P A is looking for a detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our dedicated eye care team in El Paso, TX. Responsibilities:
- Accompany the physician during patient exams to accurately document medical histories, findings, and treatment plans in real time
- Record detailed ophthalmic examination data including visual acuity, slit-lamp findings, and dilated fundus exam results
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with precision and efficiency
- Assist with patient intake, preparing charts and ensuring all prior records and test results are available for the physician
- Transcribe physician orders, referrals, and follow-up instructions accurately
- Coordinate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a medical or ophthalmic scribe preferred
- Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures is a plus
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
- Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a busy clinical setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in healthcare or pre-med a plus
