What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chapter 74 Certified Criminal Justice Teacher position at David Prouty High School?
Duties to include:
* Collaborate with program advisory committee and community public safety personnel to continue building established 9-12 project-based Criminal Justice program
* Integrate standards, competencies, goals, and objectives into project-based lesson plans
* Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
* Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs, creating student internship and work-study opportunities with local and regional law and public safety departments
* Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents informed of students' progress by collecting and tracking data, providing feedback, and assessments
* Attend all department and staff meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues
* Maintain inventory of classroom contents (supplies, books, equipment, etc.)
*Works with community professionals in multiple ways, including securing internship experiences for students, hosting a Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) twice a year to collaborate regarding the CTE program, updates from the field, and career readiness skills
*Instruction covers a four-year sequence of Criminal Justice CTE frameworks with seniors completing an internship experience
* Perform other duties as assigned by Principal
