Support Services Jobs with David Evans and Associates:

Support Services is the engine that keeps DEA moving. From executive leadership to admin, HR, IS, finance, and marketing, we’re the team that keeps things organized, efficient, and people-focused. We solve problems, connect teams, and make sure DEA runs like a well-oiled machine, because great work starts with great support.

The Support Services Business Unit is seeking a Recruiter to join our high-impact Corporate Recruiting team in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Bellevue, WA, Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, or Denver, CO.

This is a strategic role with real room to shape how hiring happens across the firm, with an initial focus on supporting our Energy Business Unit and flexibility to partner with other teams as business needs evolve.

Why DEA

David Evans and Associates (DEA) is known for combining science, engineering, and design to shape communities that thrive. Across our business units, DEA delivers complex, meaningful work that improves infrastructure, supports communities, and helps clients solve important challenges. Joining our Recruiting team means helping bring in the talent that powers that work across the company.

By joining our Recruiting team, you’ll play a key role in helping DEA grow thoughtfully and strategically by connecting strong talent to the teams and opportunities that need them most.

This is a unique opportunity to support smart, dedicated leaders across the company, with a primary partnership with our Energy Business Unit and the ability to contribute wherever hiring demand is highest. They’ve got big goals and high standards, and they need a recruiting partner who brings both structure and strategy to the table. You’ll use your insight, sourcing skills, and recruiting acumen to build credibility and gain influence with your hiring teams over time. Your work will directly impact how DEA grows and evolves.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the recruiting lifecycle for mid- to senior-level technical and non-technical roles, independently developing and executing strategies from sourcing through selection and offer.
  • Serve as a talent advisor to leaders across the firm, building deep, trusted partnerships through consistency, communication, and results. Influence hiring managers by advising on role scope, qualifications, timelines, and hiring decisions based on market conditions, candidate availability, and risk assessment, with primary support for the Energy Business Unit and flexibility to assist other teams as needed.

·        Please note that other roles may be assigned depending on workload and business needs. Flexibility and a willingness to work toward the firm’s greater growth goals are essential.

  • Independently develop and execute sourcing strategies for mid- and senior-level roles, using creative outreach methods to identify hidden talent and build strong pipelines for niche, hard-to-fill positions.
  • Design tailored recruiting approaches that reflect the unique needs of different teams, roles, and hiring leaders across the firm, using labor market insight and recruiting data to inform recommendations and decision-making.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, judgment, and problem-solving ability while driving process efficiency and compliance, partnering closely with your internal team and ensuring accuracy in the Applicant Tracking System (Taleo).
  • Deliver candidate experiences that reflect DEA’s people-first culture and long-term growth vision.
  • Contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of Recruiting programs and initiatives, and may support committees or special project teams that advance broader talent goals across the company.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in Recruiting, with a track record of success in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction consulting (AEC) or infrastructure-adjacent industries.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is welcome. Experience outside the AEC industry will be considered, though preference will be given to candidates with relevant industry familiarity.
  • Experience supporting complex technical roles in fields like engineering, environmental consulting, energy, construction management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated growth through roles of increasing responsibility in Recruiting.
  • Exceptional sourcing skills, especially in competitive or passive talent markets.
  • Ability to influence hiring managers and build alignment across stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating with autonomy, ambiguity, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational instincts and a drive for process improvement.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system (Taleo preferred) and LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting practices, procedures, and related business functions, with the ability to apply sound judgment to more complex assignments.
