Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Generator Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of generators and related equipment in various customer locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. Also be able to solve problems on their own. The technician will ensure optimal generator performance, uphold safety standards, and deliver exceptional customer service. **Generac certified technician is a plus if you already have it or we will provided potential employee with proper training***
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on generators, and electrical systems
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately troubleshoot issues
- Conduct mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools,
- Maintain detailed service reports and documentation of work performed
- Conduct heavy lifting of equipment or parts as needed during repairs or installations
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs and technical issues
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and industry standards
- Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise during customer consultations
- Be able to provide office with part numbers and quantities of items needed to be ordered/ restocked
Experience
- Previous service technician experience preferred
- Proven background in generator repair, equipment repair, or generator maintenance
- Strong electrical experience including wiring, schematics interpretation, and soldering skills
- Familiarity with generator maintenance procedures and the use of hand tools, power tools,
- Experience working with schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during field service operations
- Prior sales experience is a plus but not required; a focus on customer satisfaction is essential
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
