Position Summary
The Foreman I is a hands-on role responsible for directing and coordinating assigned projects to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met. This position works in a matrix reporting environment, taking direction from the Operational Manager on employee performance and from the Project Manager on project execution. The Foreman I also works alongside the crew, leads day-to-day field activities, and helps ensure successful project completion. Previous DAVACO experience is required, along with experience leading crews of 5 to 9 employees. Domestic air travel and valid TSA-approved identification are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project requirements and communicate issues or opportunities to the Project Manager or Operational Manager
- Lead, train, coach, and develop assigned crew members
- Complete job-related reports, documentation, and employee performance evaluations accurately and on time
- Read and interpret floor plans, fixture placement drawings, and construction drawings
- Assign and prioritize work, coordinate trades and deliveries, and manage jobsite activities to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Inspect work for quality and progress, identify rework needs, and support client satisfaction
- Perform hands-on carpentry and construction duties as needed to meet project requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, maintain daily logs, and track project progress
- Support jobsite safety by enforcing corporate safety procedures and reporting serious violations promptly
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead crews and complete complex finish-out and retail remodel projects
- Strong understanding of project execution, quality control, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, clients, and vendors
- Strong knowledge of sub-trades, blueprint reading, layouts, and take-offs
- Must be self-directed, organized, safety-focused, and willing to work alongside the crew at all times
- Must have tools available and be ready to jump in as needed
- Ability to manage large-scope projects with crews of up to 9 workers and multiple sub-trades
Technical Skills
Candidates should have high-quality working knowledge in at least 7 of the following areas: cabinet installation and modification, casework, drywall, tape and bed, paint, metal and wood stud installation, flooring, countertop installation and modification, laminate work, ceiling installation and repair, digital board installation, door framing and hanging, concrete, blueprint reading, layouts, take-offs, and store fixture installation.
