Senior Optical Transport Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Optical Transport Engineer to join our Core Transport Engineering team. This is a critical role focused on executing major in-house optical network upgrades aimed at driving cost savings and enhancing infrastructure capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience with optical transport technologies and will be able to immediately contribute to a large-scale upgrade project involving Nokia (Ciena) 6500 platforms.
- Key Responsibilities:Network Upgrade Execution: Lead the configuration, deployment, and upgrade of core optical transport equipment using Nokia (Ciena) 6500 series platforms.
- Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for optical transport technologies, including DWDM and OTN architectures.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support during and after network upgrades in live production environments.
- In-House Upgrade Management: Support the strategic initiative to perform large-scale upgrades internally, reducing reliance on external vendors.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with IP and MPLS engineering teams, finance, and project management stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
