AI Consultant/Trainer for the Government Group

Role Overview

The AI Consultant/Trainer serves as a trusted advisor and internal authority on the practical application of artificial intelligence - particularly generative AI and large language models across the Government Group. This role drives scalable adoption through training and hands on guidance, while reinforcing responsible AI practices by ensuring appropriate, secure, and compliant use. Ultimately, the role builds organizational capability, confidence, and consistency in how AI is applied, translating emerging technology into measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the organization’s AI consultant and trainer, assisting team members with new and innovative uses of AI across the Government business

• Teach AI capabilities to help with practical, real world examples that will materially improve efficiency, effectiveness, or performance

• Provide guidance and expertise on prompt design, and evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, hallucinations – recommending refinements if needed

• Help reinforce AI usage standards, guardrails, and playbooks to ensure responsible, repeatable adoption

• Stay current on emerging AI trends, tools, and techniques, and assess their practical applicability within the Government Group

Required Skills & Expertise

• Requires 3–5 years of relevant experience in AI enablement, training, consulting, or a related field, with demonstrated ability to apply AI tools in practical business contexts.

• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and hands on use of LLMs

• Partnership with teams to identify their potential AI use cases or projects

• Design and refinement of prompts for high-quality outputs

• Assessment of AI outputs and identify bias, hallucinations, and data quality issues

• Instruction of AI concepts into clear and practical guidance

• Motivation to drive usage and confidence

• Ambition to stay current on evolving AI tools and trends

Additional Notes from Intake:

• 3-5 years of experience

• The scope of work/goals are to assist groups and projects within the business with AI usage, best practices, process improvements and embed that into current processes as well as new

• The role itself is not super sophisticated, but would include writing AI Agents. They still want to gravitate more towards a BA vs Engineer type candidate, even potentially a Project Manager skillset.

• The manager did bring up colleges who have some sort of AI Guild or Group for some experience, but true business experience is their desired where they have been able to create and participate in Business Projects focusing on AI Strategy.

• The person at this stage doesn’t truly need to have the experience to Lead this strategy from start to finish, but their goal is to have someone who has the base knowledge and understanding of AI Agents and functionality that they can ultimately develop into someone who is able to lead the strategy internally and improve internal processes.
