Position Summary
The Medical Staff Services Specialist ensures full compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards by performing all credentialing functions and supporting professional practice evaluation (PPE) processes. Under the direction of the Manager of MSS, this role coordinates medical staff activities, provides administrative support to Medical Staff leadership and committees, and serves as a key liaison between Medical Staff, nursing, and Administration. Strong confidentiality, attention to detail, and adherence to policies and regulations are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and manage credentialing files for all provider categories, ensuring completion of credentialing packets and timely collection of required documentation.
- Conduct initial and recredentialing verification, identify discrepancies, obtain clarifications, and ensure applications are complete.
- Compile, organize, and track documentation for FPPE and OPPE processes; collaborate with Medical Staff leaders and departments to ensure meaningful quality metrics.
- Provide committee support, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, taking minutes, and finalizing documents.
- Prepare professional correspondence, reports, memos, and other documents with strong accuracy in spelling, grammar, and formatting.
- Track credential and license expiration dates; verify renewals and communicate required actions to providers; maintain credentialing database.
- Work collaboratively with the MSS team to identify improvement opportunities and support new process initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education & Certifications
- Associate degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred; certification required within 4 years of hire.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of office experience, including word processing and transcription.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Pay: $24.28 - $32.00 per hour
