Director/VP – Land Acquisition & Power Strategy | Game-Changing AI Data Center Startup
Are you ready to shape the physical and energy backbone of the next digital revolution? A stealth-mode startup at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence infrastructure is seeking an exceptional Director or VP of Land Acquisition & Power Strategy to join their elite founding team.
This isn’t just another data center company, this is a bold new venture with a vision to redefine how AI compute power is deployed at scale. With over 3,000MW of next-gen capacity planned across North America and Europe, this company is backed by some of the sharpest minds in the hyperscale and infrastructure sectors.
Their ambition? To build high-density, liquid-cooled data centers purpose-built for AI workloads, and to do it faster, smarter, and cleaner than anyone else.
The Role
You will lead the charge in identifying, securing, and powering the physical footprints that will become tomorrow’s most powerful AI hubs. From scouting strategic sites to negotiating complex power interconnects, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of this explosive growth story.
This is a rare opportunity to:
- Lead large-scale site acquisition and power strategy for a company on the cusp of massive global expansion.
- Drive critical utility partnerships and infrastructure planning from hundreds of megawatts to gigawatt-scale power solutions.
- Work at the bleeding edge of renewable energy integration, high-density compute cooling, and AI infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Strategically source and secure land in key North American and European markets with access to scalable and renewable power.
- Lead negotiations with utilities, manage interconnection processes, and develop procurement strategies for massive power loads.
- Oversee full-spectrum due diligence: zoning, entitlements, environmental, fiber, water, and geotechnical assessments.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and legal to build a robust, actionable development pipeline.
- Be a trusted interface with stakeholders: from landowners to utility boards and government agencies.
What We're Looking For
- 7–10 years in land acquisition and power strategy for high-demand infrastructure: data centers, utility-scale energy, or heavy industrial.
- Deep, hands-on experience with utility relationships and transmission-level interconnects.
- Proven dealmaker and negotiator with a track record in closing complex site and power deals.
- Analytical, strategic, and execution-focused, with the ability to handle multiple large-scale projects concurrently.
- Willingness to travel extensively and a drive to build something truly transformative.
