Chief Operating Officer | Redefining AI Data Center Infrastructure from the Ground Up
Are you ready to lead operations at a company that's breaking all the rules of traditional data center design? A trailblazing AI infrastructure startup is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to drive the buildout and scale-up of its revolutionary AI-first data center platform.
This isn’t just another ops role, this is your chance to be part of a company at the very beginning of a massive growth arc, with leadership drawn from the world’s top hyperscale and infrastructure innovators. Backed by a bold vision and deep technical pedigree, this firm is designing hyper-efficient, high-density facilities tailored for the next generation of AI compute, from GPU clusters to direct-to-chip liquid cooling.
The Role
As COO, you’ll be the operational engine behind multiple ground-up builds across the U.S., responsible for everything from construction and compliance to vendor strategy and thermal engineering. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the CEO and technical leadership to transform land into fully-commissioned, AI-optimized infrastructure, and then scale it fast.
This is more than just building, it’s engineering the future of AI delivery at industrial scale.
Your Mission
- Lead full lifecycle data center operations: from site acquisition to power-on and beyond.
- Oversee construction, procurement, and compliance for state-of-the-art facilities incorporating advanced liquid cooling and AI-specific architectures.
- Partner across engineering and AI infrastructure teams to ensure thermal, power, and compute systems meet cutting-edge performance goals.
- Manage vendor ecosystems, develop operational KPIs, and oversee cost control across complex, multi-phase developments.
- Represent operations to customers, investors, regulators, and strategic partners.
What You Bring
- 10–20 years in operational leadership within data center or high-performance infrastructure platforms.
- Deep expertise in liquid cooling, AI workload optimization, and rack-level thermal design.
- Experience scaling operational systems during periods of rapid growth, not just maintaining steady-state assets.
- Fluency in construction management, power and cooling systems, permitting, EHS, and energy strategy.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA’s AI roadmap, including MGX and GB200 systems, and how those shape infrastructure requirements.
Who You Are
- Obsessed with precision, speed, and innovation.
- Thrives in complex, fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- A strategic executor who understands the big picture and delivers on the details.
- Driven by curiosity, technical rigor, and a passion for what’s next in AI and infrastructure.
