Title: Senior Production Support Engineer - Application & Batch Operations
Location: South Jordan, Utah (Onsite/Hybrid) - 3 days a week
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Production Support / SRE Engineer to support both application and batch operations across complex, business-critical financial systems. The role focuses on system reliability, stability, automation, and cloud operations, working closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless production performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3 production support for Java-based and batch applications in a high-availability environment.
- Manage incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Support applications deployed on Azure Cloud (PaaS) and on-prem environments.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, and database layers.
- Develop monitoring dashboards using Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.
- Automate operational tasks using Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
- Create and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures in Sybase/DB2.
- Contribute to cloud migration initiatives and reliability improvements.
- Prepare presentations and reports for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8 to 12 years in Production Support / SRE roles supporting Java-based applications.
- Strong experience with Azure Cloud (PaaS) and UNIX/Linux systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, JavaScript, SQL, and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Sybase, DB2, and ETL/batch processing.
- Solid understanding of change management and operational best practices.
