Role Overview
A rapidly scaling developer of hyperscale infrastructure is seeking an experienced SVP, Construction to lead field execution across a multi-phase data center campus program. This executive will act as the owner’s representative, overseeing general contractors and onsite tenant teams to ensure delivery meets aggressive targets for quality, schedule, and cost.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building and leading a team of project managers while driving performance across multiple concurrent builds. Success requires deep expertise in large-scale, mission-critical construction and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the owner’s lead construction representative to general contractors and onsite stakeholders, ensuring alignment on execution, sequencing, and delivery outcomes
- Lead and scale in house team of project managers overseeing shell, core, and site construction across multiple buildings
- Drive schedule adherence, milestone accountability, and field performance across all active phases
- Own GC relationships, including issue resolution, escalation management, and performance oversight
- Oversee contract execution (GMP/EPC), including change orders, pay applications, and scope control
- Partner with design, preconstruction, and engineering teams to ensure build-ready documentation and rapid issue resolution
- Establish and enforce best-in-class safety, quality, and inspection standards
- Implement robust progress tracking and reporting to provide real-time visibility into construction performance
- Coordinate closely with commissioning and technical teams to ensure readiness for turnover and operations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery speed, consistency, and cost efficiency
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture across internal and external stakeholders
AI-Enabled Delivery
This organization leverages advanced analytics and AI to enhance construction outcomes. The SVP will champion:
- Predictive schedule and risk analysis
- Data-driven cost and performance tracking
- Automated reporting and field insights

- Integration of BIM and digital twin technologies into execution
Requirements
- 20 years of construction leadership experience, including 10 years in hyperscale data centers, mission-critical, or large industrial programs
- Proven experience leading multi-billion-dollar construction programs as an owner’s representative or senior construction executive
- Expertise in GMP, EPC, and lump-sum contract structures
- Demonstrated success managing large, concurrent builds with substantial craft labor forces
- Strong understanding of data center construction (shell/core, MEP systems, critical infrastructure)
- Experience with construction scheduling, cost control, and earned value methodologies
- Track record of safety leadership on complex job sites
- Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership skills in matrixed environments
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree or PMP a plus)
Preferred Experience
- Background with hyperscale data center programs or leading developers
- Familiarity with modular or prefabricated construction approaches
- Experience delivering large greenfield campus developments
- Knowledge of Tier III/IV data center standards
